Stephen L. Bloom, Esquire

Mr. Bloom is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University (1983) and The Dickinson School of Law (1987), where he was inducted into the Woolsack Honor Society. He is an author (Is There a Lawyer in the Church? Helpful Biblical Counsel on the Real Life Legal Situations You Face, Living Ink Books, 2008) and frequent speaker on estate planning topics and issues of Christianity and the law. He serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Management and Business at Messiah College, where he
teaches courses in Personal Finance and the Economics of Social Issues. He is the former host of the “Practical Counsel – Christian Perspective” radio program and the founder of the Estate Planning Council of Cumberland County. Mr. Bloom has been actively involved in the leadership of numerous community and ministry organizations, including his church, Grace United Methodist of Carlisle, where he is certified as an Advanced Lay Speaking Minister. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Tax Court. His legal practice concentrates on estate planning; estate administration; nonprofit, ministry and small business organizations; and real estate transactions. He is a member of the Cumberland County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and the Christian Legal Society. Formerly an associate and shareholder of a large Cumberland County law firm (1987-1999) and then a solo practitioner (1999-2007),
Mr. Bloom has recently merged his practice with the Carlisle-based firm of Irwin & McKnight.
