GBOD continues to deliver the full text of each month's offertory prayers via email. You may also find the Offertory Prayers online at www.GBOD.org

August 7, 2011 -- Eighth Sunday after Pentecost

Heavenly Father, we, like Peter, have our doubts and our concerns about our abilities. As we consecrate these gifts to your service, help us do so in an attitude of trust and faith, knowing that miracles far greater than walking on water can still happen in your church. Amen. (Matthew 14:22-23)

August 14, 2011 -- Ninth Sunday after Pentecost

Like the disciples in the boat, many in our community have their boats buffeted by the winds of fear, despair, and loneliness. We ask that as we present these gifts they may be used so the presence of God may be felt and comfort given to all of those who need his loving hand. Amen. (Matthew 15:21-28)

August 21, 2011 -- Tenth Sunday after Pentecost

The Gospel of Matthew tells us whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Father we pray that we may be as generous in your Kingdom on Earth as we pray you will be in your Kingdom; help us to set loose the many gifts we have received and use them to your purposes. Amen. (Matthew 16:13-20)

August 28, 2011 -- Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost

Gracious God, we admit we do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns. But we turn these gifts to you, praying that they may be used to help your concerns and do your work in our hurting world. Amen. (Matthew 16:21-28)
